The Ramshorn Snail is a popular freshwater aquarium snail named for its flat, coiled shell that resembles a ram's horn. A prolific and undemanding creature, it earns its place in any planted tank by grazing continuously on algae, biofilm, and decomposing plant matter — acting as a living cleanup crew. Ramshorn snails are entirely peaceful and make excellent companions for neocaridina shrimp, sharing the same water parameters and causing no harm to healthy plants. They come in red and brown colour forms, and breed readily once established, making them a self-sustaining addition to a mature aquarium.
